159 London Calling

No two flowers are alike on this block-stamped, resist-dyed, and hand-painted Chintz fabric.

I’m (re)knitting Ruki toe-up socks, by designer Yucca, and learning that I should really pay attention to that nagging feeling that something has gone wrong with my knitting.

The excellent Chintz: Cotton in Bloom exhibition is on at the Fashion and Textile Museum through this weekend, so get there fast if you want to see it. Their next exhibition Beautiful People: The Boutique in 1960’s Counterculture also looks quite amazing. It opens 1 October and runs through March.

Thanks to my guest, and travelling companion, Laura Bellows for her insights and ideas on chintz.

Music: Jim Fidler, Merrigan’s Reel; Dustin Lau, Beyond Karma; Bright Pink, Look at Me Now

about

I’m a serial maker of podcasts, and many things that are not podcasts. I love playing with yarn, fibre and cloth. I will never accept that furniture in my living room only goes two ways. Almost every night, I dream about houses.

I’m really loving the podcast! You make the workday fly by. I do have a question. Where do you get the music for your podcast? I love the closing song for episode 159 and would like to find out in the wild.

Thanks for the comment, Merrie! I checked the post for this episode, and discovered the music link block wasn’t displaying properly. I’ve fixed the problem now. The artist on the last track is Bright Pink, and the track is “Look at Me Now”.
