141 Second Tier Biscuits and Naked Ladies

I know there’s a pandemic on, but the great biscuit shortage of 2020 felt extremely personal.

Short, but sweet. Like second tier biscuits.

I’m a serial maker of podcasts, and many things that are not podcasts. I love playing with yarn, fibre and cloth. I will never accept that furniture in my living room only goes two ways. Almost every night, I dream about houses.

OMG her name is Kristy GLASS!!! I can’t believe I did that.

Well, that at least explains why you can’t find her! Here’s the link.

I kept rewinding at the Kristy mention and then read your comment 😀 I watched that interview and it was wonderful. Shared it with my knitting friends and I think you may now have a couple more listeners. Second tire biscuits are such a first world problem 😀 Looking forward to the next podcast and so awesome to find you again!

Hello! I am a first time listener, having found my way here from the Kristy Glass podcast. Boy am I glad I did! Discovering your podcast and blog feels like discovering a new show on Netflix, then finding out there’s like 7 seasons already out. Amazing.
I am a new knitter. In that i learned to knit as a teenager (just knit, not purl) but did become a knitter until the last year or two. For me, it’s like my whole axis has tilted toward knitting. The joy and creative drive it brings has truly brought me to life.

I think the difference between a knitter and someone who knits is the passion. If someone occasionally knits, has no stash, doesn’t plan trips around stops at yarn stores and packs yarn for trips, then they might just be a person who knits. However, if someone has a stash of yarn, plans trips around knitting, lovingly caresses knitwear (even when worn by strangers in grocery stores), plans knitting goals for the year, then you are a knitter.

I can confirm that there are still Naked Lady parties in Portland! It’s been a few years since I attended one, but I’ve been to a handful and can confirm your experience of them — fun, supportive, and a bonding experience. You’ve inspired me to organize one post-pandemic to bring that magic back into my life.

Jocelyn, the news that the Naked Ladies are still going strong makes my heart happy.
